IB Learner Profile in Action

At Our World Neighborhood Charter School Elementary School, the IB Primary Years Programme comes to life through the values, actions, and relationships that shape our learning community. We partner closely with families by offering parent workshops that support collaboration at home using the PYP Learner Profile attributes, helping families extend inquiry beyond the classroom while reinforcing international-mindedness, reflection, and responsibility.

Students across all grade levels engage in inquiry through action by sharing their learning and identifying meaningful ways to make a positive impact in their classrooms, school, and wider community. Through letters, posters, presentations, and creative projects displayed throughout the building, students demonstrate how learning leads to real-world change.

Each quarter, our school community gathers to recognize and celebrate students who exemplify the IB Learner Profile attributes during schoolwide assemblies. These moments reflect our shared commitment to developing knowledgeable, caring, and reflective learners. Our monthly PYP newsletter further strengthens this sense of community by spotlighting students, staff, and families and highlighting the meaningful contributions they make as part of our IB learning environment.

Teachers actively use learner profile language when providing feedback, helping students reflect on their learning, behaviors, and growth through the lens of the attributes.
